The Church of England Council is a federation of Anglican Evangelical Agencies who realise that their voices carry more weight when they speak together.
CEEC has 40 members, lay and clerical, drawn from Evangelical groups in the dioceses, theological colleges, mission agencies and General Synod. The Council is currently chaired by the Revd Dr Richard Turnbull.
We encourage ideas on how to encourage, support and enable thinking and witness in church, nation and across the world.
We provide a resource for those engaged in Evangelical witness in every area of church life.
We provide a focus for action at national level.
We organise a national forum, the National Evangelical Anglican Conference, NEAC, to bring together Anglican Evangelicals for debate, planning and fellowship.
We help to serve and co-ordinate the nation-wide network of Diocesan Evangelical Fellowships and Unions.
We stimulate Evangelical theologians and other leaders to influence the national scene through synods and through such publications as the St Andrew's Day Statement which has been pivotal in the world-wide homosexuality debate. This paved the way for the book: "A Way Forward?" edited by Dr. Tim Bradshaw.
We participate in the world-wide witness to the great Biblical and Reformation principles of our faith, through our links with EFAC - Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion - of which CEEC was the mother body, through the inspiration of John Stott.
Our Basis of Belief can be found here.
