The Bishop of Birkenhead, Rt Rev Keith Sinclair, has been announced as National Director of CEEC,
with effect from April 27th, 2021.

The President of CEEC, Rt Rev Julian Henderson, Bishop of Blackburn said: ''I am delighted to welcome Keith as our first National Director for many years. Keith and I have long worked together as episcopal colleagues, and I know that he will be a National Director whose heart’s desire is for the Church of England to be strengthened through the clear teaching of mainstream Christian doctrine, as found in Scripture, and thus be equipped for the re-evangelisation of England.”

Evangelical Alliance write to Prime Minister regarding conversion therapy

The Evangelical Alliance has written to the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, outlining how current proposals being considered by the Government on conversion therapy could pose a direct threat to religious liberty and restrict personal freedoms.
The letter, which recognises the harmful practices of religious groups in the past, highlights the possibility that these measures could result in criminalising Christians and common church activities.

Bishop of Maidstone Responds to Lichfield Ad Clerum

'Thank you very much for letting me see an early copy of the new Ad Clerum on ‘Welcoming and honouring LGBT+ People’ in the Diocese. I very much appreciated the pastoral sensitivity and thoughtfulness with which it was written and, like you, would want to work for a situation where people of any sexual orientation or gender identity feel welcomed and honoured in our churches...'

Hereford Diocesan Synod

The Officers of CEEC note with sadness the passing of a motion by Hereford Diocesan Synod on 19th October asking the House of Bishops to commend an Order of Prayer and Dedication after the registration of a Civil Partnerships or a Same Sex marriage. Contrary to the motion, the Officers believe that such a provision could not be drafted without a departure from the Church of England’s understanding of marriage.
